The best education piece on the credit union difference that I have ever seen.

By Tim McAlpine

Larissa is knocking it out of the park on a daily basis on Common Wealth Credit Union's Young & Free Alberta blog.

Everyone involved in the credit union movement should watch this video.

I have been marketing and believing in credit unions for more than 15 years. Honestly, I have never seen the credit union difference so powerfully illustrated.

Other than setting the stage and providing a forum for conversation, we have nothing to do with the direction or the content of the blog. Everything you see here is Larissa. She has an inquisitive mind, a wry sense of humour and mad skills beyond her 19 years.

She is doing Common Wealth Credit Union, the credit union movement and her generation proud.

Bravo!

Tim passed this post by me before posting it. He wanted to make sure it didn't sound like we were blowing our own horn. I quickly gave an enthusiastic "thumbs up!" because this video, in my opinion, is of the calibre to be a national campaign for credit unions. Yes, it is THAT good. I wish I could say I had something to do with it, but I didn't and I can't really find anything to add to make it better. Honestly folks, you would do your CU a disservice if you didn't show this to all prospective members, not only those of the YGen variety.

Larissa is brilliant. I'm hijacking this post and this video for my own blog. I hope everybody else does the same.

Way to enable a powerhouse, Currency.

in the words of my Brit-friends.....

I just have to add -- WOW!

THIS VIDEO is the epitome of the power of social media when teamed with a worthy mission/cause/story. When you empower your community/membership, or spokesperson in this case, they will take up the cause, make it their own, and show the light in ways that you never dreamed....

Brilliant, right to the point , awesome comparisons, CU's rock

As a member of the credit union i don't see these free services that they speak of. I do like the presentation of this umm... PROPOGANDA. Its all the same you take the money and you spend it on what you want, then you charge to have and to use it, doesn't sound free to me.

A fantastic video by Y&F spokeperson! What a creative way to explain the difference between banks and Credit Unions! Way to go, Larissa!

@Lloyd - If you are member of Common Wealth and you are between 17 and 25, drop by any branch and they can hook you up with a Young & Free Account. I tried to e-mail you, but the e-mail address you submitted doesn't exist.

Excellent! Maybe Sask Co-operative Youth could have an 'idea session' to bring more people's ideas such as this to light. Great work, Larissa.

Please email it to me so we can use it in our marketing.
