How does the program work?

It’s a Money Thing is a bundle of content that is customized for your credit union and delivered to you each month by email. 

The email contains links that let you download each piece of content to your computer hard drive. You can then upload it to your Facebook page, YouTube channel, website, send it to your local newspaper, print it as posters or handouts…anything you can think of, you can do with your content.

Affordable customized content

Subscribe to our quarterly or monthly plans—the choice is yours. Illinois credit unions receive the first two content packs in the first month of subscription. All of the content that you receive can be used by your credit union for as long as your subscription is active.

Grounded in research and consumer need

Currency is collaborating with the Filene Research Institute to pilot It's a Money Thing. More than 20 credit unions from all over the United States and Canada signed up to participate in the pilot and we are now in the data-collection phase. Expect a comprehensive research report to be published by late 2015. While the pilot is now full, your credit union is still encouraged to subscribe to the It's a Money Thing financial education content.

Grounded in Filene's extensive research in this critical and developing area, It's a Money Thing will help your credit union engage and build relationships with young adults (Gen Y) while helping them become financially capable.
